Stephanie (Han Yu) Liou, MD, who recently completed her Pediatrics residency at UChicago, has been awarded the David C. Leach Award from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Liou was one of five recipients of this award, which recognizes residents and fellows who have fostered innovation and improvement in their programs, advanced humanism in medicine, and increased efficiency and emphasis on educational outcomes.

Dr. Liou is a primary care pediatrician, health equity advocate, and National Health Service Corps Scholar. She completed her residency at the University of Chicago as a Leadership for Urban Primary Care Education and Transformation (LUCENT) Scholar in 2021. The ACGME is a not-for-profit organization that accredits sponsoring institutions and residency and fellowship programs, confers recognition on additional program formats or components, and dedicates resources to initiatives addressing areas of import in graduate medical education.
