Wendy Stock, MD, the Anjuli Seth Nayak Professor of Medicine, was elected as a new member to the Executive Committee of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the largest professional society dedicated to the causes and treatments of blood disorders.
Dr. Stock is an authority in treating patients with all types of leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. She is a member of the Committee on Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics in the Biological Sciences Division; co-program leader for Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics at the UChicago Comprehensive Cancer Center, and vice-chair of the Leukemia and Leukemia Correlative Sciences Committees at the Alliance for Clinical Trials (NCTN). Her research interests include translational and clinical studies for patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with a clinical focus on adolescent and young adult ALL.
An active ASH member, Dr. Stock is the incoming co-director of the ASH Clinical Research Training Institute (CRTI) and associate editor of Blood Advances, a role she’s held for more than five years. She also served as vice chair and chair of the Scientific Committee on Lymphoid Neoplasia, and served key roles to help plan numerous ASH meetings. She also participated in several Society training and educational career development programs and awards study sessions, and served as contributing author of the ASH Self-Assessment Program for six years. Dr. Stock received an ASH Mentorship Award in 2020.
